Designing for wayfinding

Working with a digital signage specialist I was hired to design the user interface for a digital wayfinding solution.

To understand the potential journeys the user could take, I created a user flow and coupled with the technical requirements this revealed the key start and endpoints of the journey.

The client already had a great resource of imagery, so this was perfect for the way I like to work when producing high-fidelity wireframes. By using the content that closely matches that of the final product or launch phase allows for greater understand from relevant stakeholders.

Utilising a layering methodology I used panels that would float above the map. This allowed for greater interaction with both the map locations and the relevant content.
