Designing the Jodrell Bank website was pure delight, as like many I'm a total sci-fi nerd and this was a dream when the brief landed on my desk.
Jodrell Bank were launching a brand new building ‘Star Pavilion’ in 2015, funded by the Wolfson Foundation. In unison they were relaunching a responsive redesign for Jodrell Bank. Their previous site was no longer fit for purpose, and required a design that would be accessible to mobile users and to that of their content team.
Style tiles are extremely useful devices to communicate certain styles of a design before designing a complex user interface. It helped set the tone of the visual design language allowing the stakeholders to have a firm idea of what we intended to deliver. Utilising imagery, iconography, typography and various colour palettes these offered invaluable insight for further direction.
Once all the visuals were created I start the process of collating the elements to create a detailed styleguide for the developer.
